Benidorm is launching a brand-new Winter Sun Festival next month in a bid to boost off-season tourism and showcase the resort’s year-round appeal.

Running from 15 November to 20 December, the festival will bring live music, beachfront markets, food stalls, and cultural performances to the city’s promenades and plazas.

Mayor Toni Pérez described the event as “a celebration of Benidorm’s spirit and sunshine,” aimed at giving locals, expats, and winter visitors something special to enjoy after the summer crowds have gone.

Hotels across the city have already reported a surge in bookings for November, with early figures suggesting occupancy could rise by up to 25% compared to last year.

Local businesses are also preparing to take advantage of the boost.Lucy Hargreaves, who runs a café near Levante Beach, said:

“It’s great to see Benidorm keeping the energy going. The winter sun is one of the best things about living here — this festival will remind people why they should visit all year round.”

The closing weekend will feature a New Year’s Lights Preview and a charity beach walk in support of the local food bank.

Visitors can expect outdoor concerts, artisan markets, and special menus at participating restaurants.

Tourism officials hope the Winter Sun Festival will become an annual highlight, attracting both first-time visitors and long-term residents looking for a festive way to kick off the holiday season.
