Benidorm Set for International Sporting Spectacle as 2,600 Taekwondo Athletes Arrive

Benidorm is preparing to welcome thousands of international competitors and visitors as the city hosts a major Taekwon-Do ITF World Cup from next week.
The competition will bring together more than 2,600 athletes representing 57 countries, with events scheduled to take place at the Palau d'Esports l'Illa between 28 September and 4 October.
The championship is expected to attract teams, coaches, officials and supporters from across the world.
International competition comes to Benidorm
The event will feature 259 teams and more than 4,000 accredited participants, making it a significant international sporting gathering for the city.
Taekwon-Do ITF is a traditional martial art that combines technical patterns, sparring, self-defence and physical discipline.
Competitors will take part in different categories throughout the week, with athletes representing clubs and national teams from a wide range of countries.
The Palau d'Esports l'Illa will provide the main venue for the championship.
Another boost for Benidorm's sports tourism
Benidorm has increasingly used international sporting events to attract visitors outside the traditional summer holiday period.
Competitions such as the Taekwon-Do World Cup bring additional demand for accommodation, restaurants and other local services, with teams and supporters often staying for several days.
The timing also coincides with the beginning of October, when the resort continues to welcome visitors looking for warm weather and a quieter alternative to the peak summer months.
For local businesses, the arrival of thousands of athletes and accompanying visitors offers another opportunity to benefit from Benidorm's growing sporting calendar.
Competition runs into October
The championship begins on Monday, 28 September, and runs until Sunday, 4 October.
Visitors interested in attending should check the official event programme and venue arrangements for information about admission and competition schedules.
The event adds to Benidorm's growing reputation as a destination for international sporting competitions, alongside its established tourism and entertainment offering.
