Benidorm's hospitality industry is expanding its efforts to make eating out easier for visitors with visual impairments, with nine more restaurants joining a local accessible dining initiative.

The latest additions take the number of establishments offering menus in Braille to more than 40 across the resort.

Nine more restaurants join the initiative

The new businesses joining the scheme include Ducado, Los Peces, Umai, Arrocería La Marina, Club Náutico, Mal Pas, El Mesón, Stagman Sport Bar (Rock & Ribs) and Stagman Steak House (Molta Pasta).

The initiative is being developed by ABRECA, Benidorm's hospitality association, as part of its wider work to improve accessibility across the city's restaurants and bars.

Braille menus allow people with visual impairments to read food and drink options more independently, helping them make their own choices when dining out.

The project has been developed with support from the ONCE social group and the Costa Blanca tourism board.

Making Benidorm more accessible for visitors

Benidorm welcomes visitors of all ages and abilities throughout the year, and accessible facilities can make a significant difference to the holiday experience.

For people with visual impairments, being able to read a menu independently offers greater choice and privacy when visiting a restaurant.

The expansion also provides another example of local businesses adapting their services to meet the needs of a wider range of customers.

ABRECA has indicated that it intends to continue expanding the accessible hospitality network, encouraging more member establishments to introduce practical measures that improve the dining experience.

With more than 40 venues now participating, the initiative is continuing to grow across Benidorm's restaurant and bar sector.

For British visitors planning a stay in the resort, the expansion is a useful reminder that accessibility is becoming an increasingly important part of Benidorm's tourism offering.

Further participating venues may be added as the scheme develops.
