Benidorm Hotels Remain Over 90% Full as British Tourists Keep Summer Going

Benidorm is continuing to enjoy a busy September, with hotel occupancy remaining above 90% and British holidaymakers once again leading the international market.

New figures from tourism association Hosbec show that hotels in Benidorm recorded an average occupancy rate of 92.5% during the first half of September.

That represents an increase of 2.4 percentage points compared with the same period in 2025, highlighting the strength of the resort's late-summer trade.

And it is British visitors who continue to play the biggest role among international tourists.

According to the latest figures, the UK accounted for 41.4% of Benidorm's international hotel guests, up from 39.4% during the same period last year.

Spanish visitors made up 34.6% of hotel guests, while other international markets including the Netherlands, Belgium and Romania are also increasing their presence in the resort.

September still looking busy

The strong figures don't appear to be limited to the first half of the month.

Hosbec says confirmed bookings for the second half of September are currently at 88.9%, suggesting that Benidorm's hotels are set for another busy period as the resort moves towards the end of the traditional summer season.

For British holidaymakers, the figures underline just how popular Benidorm remains outside the peak July and August period.

The resort's combination of warm weather, beaches, entertainment and extensive hotel and apartment accommodation continues to attract visitors well into September.

A longer tourist season?

The latest figures also provide another indication that Benidorm's traditional summer season is becoming increasingly extended.

Rather than seeing demand fall sharply after August, the resort is continuing to welcome large numbers of visitors through September.

For local businesses, including bars, restaurants, shops and entertainment venues, that means another busy period as thousands of holidaymakers continue to enjoy the resort.

With almost nine out of every ten hotel places already booked for the second half of the month, visitors planning a September break may find that Benidorm remains considerably busier than they might expect at this time of year.
